| What We Believe |
|
• Baptism is an initiation in the body of Christ, the church, a sign of the beginning of the journey. Because baptism is a public recognition of God's action (grace) on behalf of humans, Presbyterians baptize both children and adults.
• Communion (the Lord's Supper) is observed on the first Sunday of each month at St. James. It is celebrated as a renewal of faith and a time of recommitment of ourselves to life as disciples of Jesus. Communion is available to all those who wish to love and serve Christ, regardless of denominational affiliation.
The congregation is made up of children, youth and adults from a variety of backgrounds. One of the major commitments of St. James is to, ministry with families. Children's and Youth activities abound as we seek to help younger generations grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. Together we strive to be Christ's disciples in this world through worship, Bible study, prayer, giving of our money and time, and supporting Christian work around the world. We welcome all who would join us on this journey of faith.
