Sarah Chancellor, who grew up in this church and graduated from OSU, was appointed by the Presbyterian Church USA as a Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) and started her one year of service in Peru last August. The YAV program seeks to pair young adults with partners in mission around the world. The PCUSA provides the majority of her support/salary for that year, but we have also taken the opportunity to directly support a mission worker in the field with our donations!
Sarah requests your prayers on this journey. She has been keeping in touch with us through her Blog: http://www.sarahyav.blogspot.com/ and through e-mail:

Every three years Presbyterian Youth from all over the US and Canada (as well as global partners from around the world) gather on the campus of Purdue University to worship, learn, pray, and play together. In July, the four young ladies pictured here and Pastor Cheryl will embark on this exciting adventure with other youth from the Eastern Oklahoma Presbytery. The theme for this year is For Such a Time As This from the book of Esther, and just like Esther, the youth will be challenged to think and learn about how God is calling them in this unique time and place. The theme will be developed through the week through worship, small groups, and recreation. |

SUNDAY SCHOOL The last Sunday of regular Sunday School for children was May 23rd, which was also Pentecost Sunday. Children have been learning about some of the early believers of our faith and celebrated their faith and that of others on Pentecost Sunday. May 23rd was also the last Sunday of Children's Church until September. Activity bags will be available each Sunday during the summer months for children to use as they participate in worship with their families. A nursery for children under the age of five will also be available. Summer Sunday School will begin June 13th for children kindergarten through the 6th grade. Each week the children will explore the adventures of some of Gods followers and how they lived out their faith. Children will have the opportunity to travel with the Israelites as they left Egypt, swim with Jonah, and walk with Jesus, to name a few of the Awesome Adventures; God's People on the Move. Nursery care will also be available for children under the age of 5. |
